SAN ANTONIO SHOE MAKERS

The story of the San Antonio Shoemakers™(SAS) family begins with its founders, Terry Armstrong and Lew Hayden. The two first met in Pittsfield, Maine, but their passion for making quality footwear led them to San Antonio, Texas. After working for a local shoe company, Terry and Lew struck out on their own.

Terry and Lew had a vision of how genuine leather shoes should be made. With determination, and the support of their families, the two pooled their resources to start their first factory in a corner of an unused aircraft hangar on the South Side of San Antonio. In 1976, San Antonio Shoemakers was born.

Today it is still a family owned and operated and company dedicated to making American made shoes handcrafted from only the softest, highest quality leather.

Founded in 2005, SAS Shoes Buffalo is a family-owned and operated SAS store. We specialize in hard to find sizes and hard to fit feet.

We take the time to measure both feet and fit your foot to the right shoe. Not only do we have a wide variety of sizes and widths, but each shoe fits differently. Our shoes are made in America so they are American sizes. Women's sizes range from 4-12 and widths slim (AAA), narrow (AA), medium (B), wide (C), double wide (D), and in some triple wide (E-EE). Men's sizes range from 6-15 and widths slim (B), narrow (C), medium (D), wide (E), double wide (EE-EEE), and triple wide (EEE-EEEE). Many customers may require doctor recommended orthotics. Inserts may require added depth in the shoe and make it fit differently, which is why some of our shoes are built with added depth to accommodate this.

Our specialty is comfort shoes, all our shoes have some degree of arch support built into the shoe with some even having removable footbeds for people with custom orthotics. Many podiatrists in the area recommend a number of our shoes for a range of foot problems such as bunions, hammer toes, heel spurs, plantar fasciosis, and footwear for diabetics. Some of our shoes are Medicare and diabetic approved. If you can’t make it in to see us in our store, we will ship to you in US and Canada.

Returns and Exchanges

We’re not happy until you are. If you are not 100% satisfied with your online purchase for any reason, you can ship back to the Williamsville, NY address at the bottom of this page. Please call during our business hours at (716) 631-1002 if you have any questions or concerns. We will be happy to provide a full refund or an even exchange of any unworn or defective merchandise within 30 days of the purchase, provided you have the original receipt. Return freight fees are paid by the customer and are non refundable.

Refunds will be made in the form of the original payment for the price noted on the receipt. If you return merchandise after 30 days from the purchase date, we can offer you an even exchange/store credit for any unworn or defective merchandise.

We take great pride in handcrafting each shoe. However, please understand all materials will naturally break down over time, regardless of wear and tear or frequent/infrequent use. No product can be designed to last forever.

In the event of an unusual situation, please contact our store for a thorough evaluation. Be prepared to provide a brief summary to help us determine a solution.
